Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups…oh how grateful I am that you are gluten free. Thank you to the candy creators who knew that this is the one candy that I would want to share with my child.
I can’t get over how perfect these simple little chocolate covered peanut butter patties are. The chocolate is the perfect thickness, the perfect softness, the perfect sweetness, just perfect! And that peanut butter center…if I could recreate that, I would be one rich and heavy woman.
I’ll tell you one thing, I am just waiting to get my hands on one of those pumpkin shaped Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups. Why is it that the holiday ones taste even more delicious than the originals? Who knows! All I know is that no matter how tempting it may be, I avoid buying them all up on the “day after holiday” sales. That would be a very dangerous idea!
And so after all that praising of peanut butter cups, this recipe uses absolutely zero of them. However, the taste of these Chocolate Dipped Peanut Butter Muffins is spot on with those addictive peanut butter and chocolate treasures.
Braelyn is always asking me to make my Best Banana Muffins for breakfast or for midday snacking, but lately we haven’t had many leftover bananas on hand. Plus, when we do have some ripe bananas hanging out in our kitchen, I like to experiment with different recipes like my Almond Butter Banana Chocolate Chip Cookies. So it was inevitable that I needed to come up with an alternative go to muffin recipe.
Since my spastic 4 year old is obsessed with peanut butter, and of course chocolate, I figured there is no better combo. I actually did make these muffins the first time using bananas, but did not like the flavor combo with the peanut butter. For some reason, I don’t like baked banana flavor with peanut butter, only fresh bananas.
Once the bananas disappeared from the recipe, these muffins knocked it out of the park, way out of the park. Home run for sure! Ben loved them, Braelyn inhaled them, and Emry couldn’t stop asking for “Mo! Mo!”
Watch out Best Banana Muffins, you’ve got some competition around here!
